Jack Early Park

  • Neighborhood: Telegraph Hill
  • Location: Off of the east side of Grant Aveue across from Pfeiffer Street
  • Height: 35 feet

A dead-end stairway up to a small viewing area overlooking the eastern end of Fisherman's Wharf, with two seats at the top. There's a gate at the base of the stairs, and the park is closed at night.

The park was first created in 1962 by Telegraph Hill resident Jack E. Early in the undeveloped right-of-way of a dead-end extension of Pfeiffer Street. It was dedicated as a park in 1987, the year after the current stairway was built.
