Shortcut from Gold Mine Hill to the Diamond Heights Village shopping center and George Christopher Playground. The name Opalo is Spanish for opal, fitting in with the naming scheme in Diamond Heights where many streets have the English names of gemstones, and stairways have the Spanish names.

The upper half has recently been decorated with artwork and many, many mirrors.
