Pemberton Place - Graystone Terrace to Crown Terrace

  • Neighborhood: Clarendon Heights
  • Location: From Graystone Terrace between Twin Peaks Boulevard and Villa Terrace to near the south end of Crown Terrace
  • Height: 35 feet
The last of the original Pemberton Place steps, consisting of brick at the bottom and concrete with inset stone the rest of the way up. The two lower blocks of Pemberton were rebuilt in the 1990s, and the dead-end remnant of the stairs above Crown Terrace were removed in 2016. They were built some time after 1909, probably as part of the Ashbury Park Tract subdivision, which comprised all of the residential lots between Pemberton Place, Clayton Street, and Twin Peaks Boulevard.
